KATHERINE ALLRED

Katherine Allred is the award-winning author of eight novels which range from contemporary romance, to southern-set women's fiction, to science fiction romance.  Look for her new releases, Close Encounters: An Alien Affairs Novel, in 2009 from Eos, the science fiction imprint of Harper Collins.

She resides in the south with her husband, two Australian Shepherds who have the IQ of  Einstein and the personality of the Key Stone Cops, and is owned by a demon spawn cat named Fuzz who was the inspiration for a character in her next novel.

When asked why she writes science fiction Katherine replies, "It's the only way I can realize my childhood fantasy of becoming a superhero, since I've yet to encounter an atomic spider."
